Our Association
Shaft Women's Rights Association was founded in Portugal by individuals committed to advancing women's rights and promoting gender equality on local, national, regional, and international levels. Our mission is to ensure that women can participate as free individuals and equal citizens in all aspects of life, while actively monitoring and advocating for gender equality policies worldwide.
We strive to eliminate discrimination and prejudices, foster social cooperation and solidarity, and bring together those who seek solutions to social challenges. A key focus of our work is to develop and enhance public policies on gender equality, ensuring their effectiveness and widespread implementation.
Our association takes a holistic approach to women's rights, addressing critical issues such as violence against women, education, economic and legal rights, reproductive rights, and women' rights. By engaging in women's platforms and coalitions globally, we actively work to improve national legislation and international mechanisms that protect and empower women.
With a diverse and multidisciplinary team, including academics, university students, computer engineers, social workers, psychologists, and teachers, we bring varied perspectives and expertise to our work. This diversity enables us to develop innovative and inclusive approaches to gender equality and social justice.

Shaft Women's Rights Association's Values, Mission and Vision
Anti-Discrimination and Equal: Our association works for the full equality of women and the elimination of all forms of discrimination based on gender or sexuality. of all persons and persons based on gender, gender, age, race, religion, language, political or other opinion, class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, health status, disability, ancestry and marital status, immigrant or refugee status, or any other status.

According to our association, patriarchy is universal and diversity is valuable. Therefore, it emphasizes solidarity, networking and connections between different groups. It attaches importance to solidarity and cooperation with both different levels of the women's movement (local, regional, national, international) and other rights-based groups when necessary.
Our mission is to raise awareness of feminist rights at all local, national, regional and international levels, to contribute to the equal, strong and free participation of women in life, and to advocate for the protection and strengthening of women's human rights.
Our vision is a world where all relations of domination, especially based on the patriarchal system, come to an end, women's rights are achieved and absolute equality prevails.
Our Activity Areas
Shaft Women's Rights Association has carried out many activities in line with its purpose, target, vision and mission since its establishment.
Equal opportunity, justice, fight against discrimination, orphan and street children, child education, support to education, disability, addiction, healthy life, entrepreneurship and protection of stray animals are the main fields of activity of Shaft Women's Rights Association.
In addition to these, we aim intensively;
-Exploring women's human rights issues and possible solutions;
-Influencing decision-making at the national and international level;
Developing and implementing national and international training programs on women's human rights;
-Preparing publications and tools for women's initiatives to support organizing and opposing gender discrimination;
-To carry out various studies in order to contribute to the establishment of effective solidarity networks among non-governmental organizations working in the field of democracy, women's and human rights at the regional level and all over the world.
Our Social Gender Equality Activities
"Human Rights Festival"
Location: Portugal
Date: 10 December 2019
Purpose: To bring our association together with the public, to start small-scale studies and to raise awareness about the human rights declaration.
Description: This festival was held on December 10, Human Rights Day. It is the first festival event organized by our association. About 70 people attended the event. Various performance presentations and human rights declaration presentations were made at this event.
"Brave Women"
Location: High School/Portugal
Date: 8 March 2020
Purpose: To introduce important women who have left their mark on history from past to present
Description: About 120 people from high school students, parents, teachers and women's association members attended our presentation called Brave Women and our flash mob event. We invited women who achieved great success. First of all, these people sitting in the audience took the stage to the accompaniment of songs and told their life stories and idols. In this work, which creates a great motivation for the audience, the lives of women who are famous for their success and who left their mark on history are also examined. A brainstorming exercise was conducted with the audience on what would be the motivation behind their success.
“Child Brides”
Location: Portugal
Purpose: To raise awareness of the society about the negative effects of child marriages.
Explanation: In our project covering a period of approximately two months, people living in some parts of Portugal were interviewed. Our work continues, where we meet women who are out during the day and men who are out at night. In these meetings, our experts talk about the negative consequences of child marriage. Our project, which we have reached many people so far, is spreading with the support of the local people.
