The Bridge of Communication Between Generations / Building Stronger Connections Across Generations
Shaft Women's Rights Association took part as a partner organisation in the Erasmus+ project “The Bridge of Communication Between Generations.” Implemented under the project reference 2023-2-TR01-KA153-YOU-000167809, the project focused on communication challenges between different generations and aimed to promote empathy, understanding and more effective communication.
Technological development, changing social conditions and differences in lifestyles can influence how generations perceive the world and each other. Within this project, youth workers were supported in developing their communication and empathy skills so that they could better understand generational differences and contribute to preventing these differences from turning into conflicts. As a partner organisation, Shaft Women's Rights Association contributed to this process through its experience in youth and social work.
The project encouraged participants to question prejudices, understand the experiences of different generations and develop a more open attitude towards change. Bringing youth workers from different cultural backgrounds together also created opportunities for intercultural learning and helped participants recognise the importance of communication beyond cultural and generational boundaries.
The project highlighted that stronger communication between generations can contribute not only to healthier interpersonal relationships but also to a more understanding and inclusive society. The communication, empathy, social and management skills developed throughout the project can be transferred to participants’ future youth work activities, extending the project's impact to wider communities.
